Bisomus (Twin Wight)

“...a deathly pink and pallid cadaver but with a second full torso seemingly growing from the waist up. The clearly undead creature shambles forward, breaking into a trot as its four fists flail in fury as it tries to pummel you to the floor...”

Bizarre necrotic brethren married at the hip. Twin wights are created by a ceremony that has two creatures ritually sacrificed, typically spouses or lovers, then buried in the one coffin. The practice is particularly horrific in that the two victims are given mortal wounds that do not prove immediately fatal. Thus are they buried alive, bleeding to death in their last embrace. Those who commit these evil acts are typically worshippers of deities who preside over both death and fertility, such as the goddess Kali.

The bisomus will attack the nearest target with its one-two punch. If it can attack three or more targets with its whirlwind romance it will use that option instead. The first time its struck it immediately uses the trial separation to evade the attack and retain its honeymoon period bonus. As soon as its bloodied, it will expend its action point and use flailing fists twice.

Once ‘slain’ and split into two Twin Wight Divorcee’s, each half will attempt to stay within an adjacent square. Concentrating their attacks on anyone trying to prevent this.

Bisomus Lore
A character knows the following information with a successful religion check.
DC 20: The bisomus or twin wight as it is more commonly known, is a horrid undead creature created by foul necromantic rituals wherein a pair of lovers are buried alive.
DC 25: The bisomus can evade attacks by temporarily splitting its form down the middle; with both halves connected by the monsters shadowy spirit.
DC 30: It is rumoured that upon its apparent destruction, the two bodies seperate but fight on and can even rejoin.

Encounter Group
“The Honeymooners”
Level 13-14 Encounter (XP 4000-5400)
. 5 thuggee fanatics (level 14 minion brute)
. 2 thuggee executioners (level 11 soldier)
. 1 spectral tendrils trap (level 13 obstacle)
. 1 guru of Kali (level 14 artillery)
. 1 twin wight (level 12 elite skirmisher)
Notes: The cult of Kali have kidnapped a pair of newlyweds (perhaps the heroes attended their wedding to make things even more personal). The heroes witness the bleeding bethrothed being lowered into the black iron coffin and have only 3 rounds to get to them and heal them before they die (the coffin must be opened for healing to work). If the heroes do not reach them in time at the beginning of the 4th round the twin wight arises and attacks. To make matters worse the coffin is at the center of a spectral tendrils trap.
